The capacity for medical treatment in Lishui – located in East China's Zhejiang province – is expected to be significantly boosted with the planned construction of the Lishui First People's Hospital in the city's economic and technological development area, local media reported recently.

The Lishui First People's Hospital will cost an estimated 2.9 billion yuan ($455.93 million), with a planned floor space of 113,226 square meters and it will have 1,000 beds.   

The hospital is expected to be positioned as a first-rate hospital integrating medical treatment, scientific research, teaching, illness prevention and health care.
