The TÜV Rheinland Greater China – a global provider of technical, safety, and certification services – recently issued a TÜV Rheinland North America cTUVus certificate to Aventon.
Aventon is a subsidiary of Zhejiang Jiahong Sports Equipment Co Ltd located in the Jinyun county of Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province.
Zhejiang Jiahong Sports Equipment Co Ltd was established in 2015 with a focus on the research and development, production, and sales of electric bicycles. It has an R&D center and a brand operation center in Los Angeles, the United States. Its independent brand Aventon has become a well-known brand in the US electric bicycle industry.
The North American market has relatively strict market access requirements for electric bicycles. In 2020, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued an announcement, requiring the electrical system of all electric bicycles to comply with the UL 2849 standards to ensure their safety.
The issuance of the TÜV Rheinland cTUVus Certificate for the Aventon electric bike is the first certificate issued according to the latest international standard UL 2849 according to Frank Holzmann, vice president of Business Field Electrical, TÜV Rheinland.
According to Holzmann, TÜV Rheinland looks forward to working with more manufacturers to help Chinese brands enter the North American market faster, build up consumer confidence, and enhance brand influence by improving product quality in the industry.
