The second China Stainless Steel Tube Summit Forum opened in Songyang county – administered by Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – on Sept 24.
Experts and academics in the field of iron and steel and the metallurgical industry, as well as a large number of representatives of stainless steel tube manufacturers and industry associations around the country, attended the forum.
They discussed the green and low-carbon development path for the stainless steel tube industry in China.
The sector has been developing in Songyang county for nearly 20 years. At present, its annual output tops 300,000 tons, with an annual output value of over 6 billion yuan ($927.87 million), accounting for one-third of the national market share.
In recent years, Songyang has followed the principal of green development and all its stainless steel tube factories have adopted centralized sewage treatment.
Last December, Songyang held the first China Stainless Steel Tube Summit Forum, which is understood to have had a significant impact on the market and elicited major social responses.
