The Songyang Cultural Tour for Envoys of Picturesque Zhejiang, a part of the "Focus on Zhejiang" international cultural exchange event sponsored by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, was held in Songyang county, Lishui, East China's Zhejiang province, on July 3-4.

A total of 20 foreigners from 15 countries and regions visited the unique cultural venues in Songyang, including the Culture Neighbourhood·Songyang Three-Temple Cultural Communication Centre, a papermaking workshop, and Yangjiatang village.

"This is the first time I've tried my hand at paper-making. I find it very interesting and meaningful," said Tsytsiura Kseniia, a foreign expert from the College of International Studies at Jiaxing University, who tried out ancient paper-making and learned about Chinese painting and calligraphy during the event.

In addition to its unique traditional culture, Songyang also boasts splendid natural scenery, which left a deep impression on the foreign visitors.

Ergashev Akmal from Tajikistan said, "I have been in China for nearly eight years and have lived in Guilin in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and Wenzhou in Zhejiang. I like Songyang a lot because it makes me feel at home."

The 2021 "Focus on Zhejiang" international cultural exchange event was officially launched on May 22. Multiple activities will provide foreigners with a chance to experience Zhejiang's culture and tourism attractions throughout the year.
