Displays of hot musical pyrotechnics and cool instrumental virtuosity are expected at the 5th Guitar China International Guitar Culture Festival, to be held on Aug 13-16 in Longquan – a county-level city administered by Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – local media reported recently.

With its theme "culture makes Longquan better", the event is expected to help boost the development of Longquan's culture and tourism industry.

The event is set to attract the participation of musical instrument masters – especially guitar masters – from all over the country and present visitors with a midsummer audio-visual extravaganza.

Sideline activities featuring Longquan's traditional culture, such as demonstrations of the firing of the celebrated Longquan celadon ceramics, will be held during the event.
