The Longquan Celadon and Sword Technician College was officially approved by the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government recently.
In June 2014, Xia Baolong, then secretary of Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, proposed during an inspection visit to Longquan that the city should focus on the inheritance of sword and celadon – two of the city's intangible cultural heritages. He also proposed the establishment of a specialized celadon and sword talent training school.
In July 2015, the provincial government approved the establishment of Longquan Celadon and Sword Technician College as part of Longquan Secondary Vocational School.

After more than four years of preparation, the school's direction, mode and mechanism are fully integrated with technical education.
The college will make innovations in talent training through such measures as curriculum construction, standard formulation, scientific research and innovation, industry-education integration, and school-enterprise cooperation, to promote talent training in intangible cultural heritages to the whole country and expand its national popularity and influence.
In the meantime, the college will promote the exchange of intangible cultural heritage culture, skills and teaching at home and abroad.
