Wu Xiaodong, the mayor of Lishui in Zhejiang province, had a video call with Takeshi Toyooka, the mayor of Mishima city in Shizuoka prefecture, Japan, on June 30 to exchange experiences in coronavirus epidemic prevention and control.

Wu expressed his gratitude to Mishima city for its help and support in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic. He said he hoped to deepen the sharing of experiences and other exchanges with Mishima in the post-pandemic era.

Wu also said the pandemic would not slow exchanges between the two cities, adding that he hoped that the two cities could conduct in-depth cooperation in industrial development, improvement in education, tourism, and city construction in the future.

On behalf of the people of Mishima, Toyooka expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by Lishui. He also expressed his hopes for further cooperation with Lishui.

Mishima is Lishui's first international sister city. During the coronavirus epidemic, Mishima was the first sister city to send epidemic prevention materials to Lishui.
