Two pieces of Longquan celadon by Mao Zhengcong and Mao Weijie were acquired recently by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, France.
Mao Zhengcong and Mao Weijie are a father and son of a well-known celadon family in Longquan, a county-level city in Lishui, East China's Zhejiang province. They are contributors to the renaissance of Longquan celadon, which is on the world intangible cultural heritage list.
The museum is located in the Louvre's western wing. It focuses on objects of both aesthetic and functional value, and has a distinctive and rich collection covering nine floors.
The museum has long been paying attention to Chinese art, and has many pieces of ancient Longquan celadon in its collection.
According to a museum official, the two pieces enriched the museum's historical celadon collection from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
