Zhejiang Jinyun Industrial Zone
Construction of Zhejiang Jinyun Economic Development Zone started in March 2003, and was approved as a provincial industrial park by the National Development and Reform Commission and the provincial government in March 2006, with an approved area of 4.16 square kilometers.
In December 2015, the provincial government approved the integration and expansion of the zone to 8.06 sq km.
By 2018, the zone (a sub-district) had jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages with a permanent population of 42,000, of whom 11,000 were people from outside Jinyun.
In the zone, there are 66 enterprises above the designated scale (annual main business income of over 20 million yuan [$2.9 million]), 14 high-tech enterprises above provincial level, two postdoctoral workstations at national level, eight research and development technology centers at provincial level and 27 R&D centers at municipal level.
After more than 10 years of development, the zone has formed an industrial system focusing on mechanical equipment, leisure sports, building materials and electronic appliances.
In 2018, the zone's total industrial output value reached 8.53 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 12.3 percent, the accumulative tax revenue reached 320 million yuan, up 37.1 percent year-on-year, and the total foreign trade export amounted to $353 million, accounting for 46.6 percent of the total amount of Jinyun county, up 30.5 percent year-on-year.
