Jinhua companies demonstrated put in a strong showing at the 137th Canton Fair, navigating global uncertainties with innovation, market diversification, and a growing focus on cross-border e-commerce, local media outlets reported.
This year, 994 Jinhua-based companies participated, with a record 1,786 booths. Among them, 271 were part of the Advanced Manufacturing exhibition, showcasing 21 categories of products, including electronics, machinery, and new energy.
Enterprises like Zhejiang Minhui Luminous Technology Co and Zhejiang PDW Industrial Co highlighted the crucial role of R&D in securing orders. Minghui's solar-powered embedded road studs drew interest from European and Middle Eastern buyers, generating over $400,000 in potential orders on the first day alone.
Amid global trade tensions, companies such as Zhejiang Seacoast Industrial Co have reduced reliance on North American markets by expanding into over 60 countries. Others, like PDW, are exploring localized production, setting up factories in Africa while maintaining R&D in China.
Many firms are also turning inward, balancing export and domestic sales. Zhejiang Rongsheng Tools Co, traditionally focused on overseas markets, is now shifting to a 2:3 domestic-to-export sales ratio.
Cross-border e-commerce is becoming a vital growth engine. Leading manufacturer Zhejiang Prulde Electric Appliance Co is leveraging platforms like Amazon and Tmall to reach global and local consumers. Seacoast is transitioning from B2B to B2C, seeking more flexibility and resilience amid shifting global trade dynamics.
The strong presence of Jinhua companies at the fair reflects their determination to adapt, diversify, and upgrade as they seek to maintain long-term global competitiveness.
