The 137th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) in Guangzhou began on April 15. Yongkang county-level city in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, is showing a strong presence at the event, with 87 enterprises displaying their products across 164 booths, spanning categories like tools, household appliances, motorcycles, bicycles, and automotive parts.

The fair, which runs from April 15 to May 5 in three phases, hosts around 74,000 booths and 31,000 exhibitors.

Jinhua Coofix Tools Co received a growing interest in its electric tools from Middle Eastern merchants at the fair, said Foreign Trade Manager Yao Ru.

In recent years, the company has been exploring markets in Mexico, Colombia, Russia, the UAE, and Egypt. The company tailors its products for emerging markets like Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa to meet increasing demand for Chinese products along the Belt and Road Initiative.

This year, it has developed 79 new products in the first quarter and has brought more than 10 of those to the Canton Fair.

A representative from the bureau of commerce in Yongkang said, "With the threat of high tariffs placed by the United States, diversifying markets has become crucial for Yongkang businesses." The Canton Fair serves as a main platform for Yongkang enterprises to show their capabilities, engage with international buyers, and reinforce their presence in emerging markets.
