The Tanzania Trade and Investment Promotion Conference took place in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, on April 14, bringing together economic and trade delegations from Tanzania and representatives from over a hundred industry associations and companies in Zhejiang.

Tanzania is one of Africa's largest and fastest-growing economies, and Jinhua has been engaging with it in frequent interactions on economy and trade.

Last year, nearly 80 Tanzanian business representatives visited Jinhua for negotiations and market explorations, leading to cooperation agreements in sectors like engineering machinery and electromechanical equipment.

At the conference, Gilead John Teri, director of the Tanzania Investment Center, highlighted the local investment environment and incentive programs. The center offers one-stop services covering taxation, electricity, labor, and business registration, as well as investor benefits like exemptions on project capital goods, tax breaks, and depreciation allowances.

Additionally, the Sino-Tan Industrial Park, Tanzania's first national-level industrial park, has attracted more than 10 Chinese companies. Representatives from the park introduced the cooperation forms and preferential policies for enterprises at the conference.

The interactions between Zhejiang companies and the Tanzanian delegation were vibrant. Ni Zeng, from Zhejiang Shanghetai New Energy Technology Co in Jinhua, said, "We intend to make Africa our first destination to expand overseas markets."

The company plans to explore business opportunities in Tanzania and Kenya following the conference.
