The 11th Ethnic Tourism and Cultural Event of Zhejiang Province and the 14th Shuiting She Ethnic Township Sanyuesan Ethnic Customs Experience Week began in Lanxi county-level city, Jinhua, Zhejiang province, on March 26.
The Sanyuesan Festival, celebrated on the third day of the third month of the Chinese calendar, is a traditional festival of the She ethnic group.
Shuiting She Ethnic township, one of the 18 ethnic towns and townships in the province and Lanxi's only ethnic township, has a rich cultural heritage.
Lanxi hosts the ethnic tourism and cultural event annually, offering visitors a glimpse into the allure of Chinese culture and fostering a national spiritual hub through cultural exchange to support the holistic revitalization of ethnic villages.
The event featured a musical theater, Wuju Opera performances, an ethnic costume show, and a dance performance. These activities allowed attendees to experience the captivating aspects of traditional Chinese culture.
At the common prosperity market's food section, delicacies such as bean products and sesame-filled glutinous rice pastry from the She ethnic group attracted many visitors. They not only enjoyed these authentic dishes but also participated in hands-on crafting sessions to learn the traditional art of She ethnic cuisine preparation.
Additionally, an exhibition area displayed traditional costumes, embroidery, silver jewelry, and other artifacts of the She ethnic group. This exhibition provided insights into the history, culture, and craftsmanship of the ethnic group while offering opportunities to purchase unique souvenirs.
