Wuyi county in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, recently collaborated with Hangzhou to host an intangible cultural heritage event.

At Hangzhou's Wushan Square, a bustling market featured nearly 30 unique booths from both regions, offering a colorful array of traditional delicacies and crafts.

Wuyi's renowned snacks, such as Xuanping wontons and pork sausage with preserved vegetables, attracted foodies, while artisans displayed their intricate lacquer decorations and grass-woven creations, sharing stories of cultural heritage with visitors.

The intangible cultural heritage market highlighted Wuyi's traditional Chinese medicine preparation techniques and ceramics firing skills of Wuzhou Kiln, alongside Hangzhou's copper sculptures and sugar painting, attracting a diverse audience interested in exploring the rich cultural offerings.

As night fell, the event transformed, featuring Wuju opera performances that captivated the crowd and a 50-meter-long lantern procession weaving through the square. Additional intangible cultural heritage performances from Wuyi added to the enchanting atmosphere.

"This collaboration with Hangzhou has allowed us to present over 20 intangible heritage items and dynamic cultural performances, fostering a fruitful cultural exchange," said Jin Dongliang, director of the Wuyi County Cultural Center.

He also mentioned plans to invite Hangzhou's intangible heritage items to Wuyi, creating a platform to support the preservation and development of each other's intangible cultural heritage.
