Local and international villagers and tourists gathered in Lizu village in Jinhua, Zhejiang province on the evening of Jan 19 for a gala celebrating the upcoming Spring Festival.
The village hosted various activities, including a photography exhibition featuring 24 works created by the Yiwu Youth Photographers Association on the beauty of Lizu village and its people.
Free photos were given to villagers aged 70 and above, while international visitors joined in traditional activities like writing couplets to embrace Chinese culture.
With over 20 performances such as songs, dances, fashion shows, and recitations, the event showed harmonious rural living. Expats living in the village also performed to show their appreciation for Chinese rural living.
"The event brings together villagers, old and new, fostering a sense of community and preserving the essence of rural life while incorporating global perspectives," said Zhu Yangjin, a provincial cultural envoy stationed in the village.
