The 2024 GDP of Jinhua in Zhejiang province is projected to increase by 6.3 percent, surpassing both provincial and national averages, according to Jinhua's government work report released on Jan 20.
The value of the city's imports and exports reached an impressive 879.49 billion yuan ($120.96 billion), representing a robust hike of 14.3 percent and securing its position as a leader in provincial growth.
Exports hit 771.92 billion yuan, up 16.4 percent, with those to Africa in particular accounting for 9.3 percent of the national total.
The China-Europe freight train service expanded the number of its routes to 25, with 2,619 trains operated in 2024, a 10 percent increase.
Furthermore, the regular operation of high-speed rail express services delivered a record-breaking 17.19 billion parcels, positioning Jinhua as a frontrunner in the country.
Last year, Jinhua established two new 100-billion-yuan industrial clusters in new energy vehicles and key components as well as textiles and apparel, bringing the total number of such clusters to four.
The number of market entities rose by 357,000 to over 2 million in total, ranking first in terms of the growth rate in Zhejiang.
Urban and rural residents experienced positive growth in per capita disposable income, putting on increases of 4.4 percent and 6.7 percent, respectively. A total of 117,000 new jobs were created for urban residents.
The city's tourism sector saw a 9.5 percent increase in visitors to 108 million and generated a revenue of 135.28 billion yuan, reflecting growth of 10.8 percent. Notably, the Jinhua Shuanglong Scenic Area received a 5A rating in December 2024.
