Pujiang county in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, launched its "Experience Intangible Cultural Heritage in Pujiang" New Year cultural tourism activities at a news conference on Jan 20, promising visitors an immersive cultural experience for the upcoming Chinese New Year.

Over 70 diverse activities are scheduled during Spring Festival, including folk customs performances, fairs, and calligraphy and painting exhibitions.

Spotlighting Pujiang's intangible cultural heritage and folk traditions, the activities will combine shopping, cultural immersion, and interactive experiences.

The Pujiang bench dragon dance, an important intangible cultural heritage for Spring Festival, takes center stage this year, with a series of engaging activities around this iconic symbol.

The county will host a bench dragon dance on Feb 8, featuring six dragon teams parading through the streets, reviving the ancient tradition of festive processions and offering a visual spectacle for residents and visitors.

During Lantern Festival, the dragon dance will dazzle audiences in Beijing at an intangible cultural heritage performance there. More than 100 performers will present Pujiang's unique cultural traditions to a wider audience on Feb 11 and 12.

To further promote the charm of the dragon dance, Pujiang will also hold various activities such as a provincial photography competition around the cultural heritage.

Moreover, towns and villages in Pujiang will offer bench dragon dances during Spring Festival, inviting visitors to experience the cultural heritage in person.
