In 2024, the China-Europe (Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe) freight train service operated 2,619 trains, with a 10 percent year-on-year growth. Over a decade, this freight service has connected Jinhua and Zhejiang to over 50 countries through 25 routes.
Feng Xubin, a member of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of YXE Trading Service Group — the operator of the China-Europe freight train service, emphasized leveraging this connection to propel Yiwu toward higher international openness.
Feng proposed hosting the China-Europe Railway Express Cooperation Forum in Yiwu to enhance collaboration with countries along the routes, fostering a win-win development framework that is more resilient and sustainable.
YXE Trading Service Group, as a private China-Europe train platform, has been strategically expanding its overseas service network, setting up operational centers in Eurasian cities such as Madrid and Almaty.
Feng highlighted that holding the forum in Yiwu would maximize the China-Europe railway's role as a vital global trade conduit, facilitating Yiwu and Zhejiang's integration into global industrial and supply chains and promoting "dual circulation" of domestic and international markets.
Feng advocated for enhancing international cooperation networks of the China-Europe train service, driving digitalization, and expanding into trade and investment, digital economy, and land-sea connectivity.
