During the Forum on China-Africa Economic, Trade and Cultural Cooperation held from Nov 8 to 9 in Jinhua, 28 cooperation projects were signed, with a total investment exceeding 47.9 billion yuan ($6.63 billion).
Located in inland Zhejiang province, Jinhua serves as a crucial gateway for China-Africa cooperation. The city has established trade relations with all African countries and regions, and has 30,000 merchants operating businesses there.
Statistics show that Jinhua's export volume to Africa has consistently accounted for over 8 percent of China's total exports to the continent for the past nine years. In the first three quarters of this year, this figure reached 9.7 percent, ranking Jinhua first among all prefecture-level cities in China.
As of the end of October, Jinhua had registered 1,912 foreign-invested enterprises from Africa, the most in Zhejiang province.
From 2014 to 2023, Jinhua's trade volume with Africa totaled 740.27 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 12.1 percent.
In recent years, Jinhua has strengthened its cooperation with Africa in various fields, including education, technology, culture, and tourism.
In the first half of this year, the number of Ethiopian tourists visiting Jinhua tripled, while tourists from Egypt and Morocco nearly doubled.
