The Forum on China-Africa Economic, Trade and Cultural Cooperation was held in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, on Nov 8.

The event featured various activities, including the 2024 Conference on China-Africa Cultural and Tourism Cooperation & Exchange, Wuju Opera performances, and an exhibition showcasing the outcomes of the "Qiaochui Workshop" handicraft exchange program between China and Africa.

In the exhibition area, artworks from 35 artists representing six countries, including Burundi, Gabon, Lesotho, and Tanzania, were displayed. Over 60 ceramic pieces created through exchanges in China caught the attention of attendees, with 20 newly created works integrating Jinhua's Wuzhou kiln techniques.

Wuzhou kiln, a well-known ancient celadon kiln, got its name from its location in Wuzhou (the ancient name of Jinhua). The kiln's traditional firing techniques were recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage item in 2014.

In recent years, under the Belt and Road Initiative, Jinhua has been actively exploring new channels for cooperation with African nations to enhance China-Africa friendship and promote mutual development through economic and cultural exchanges.
