Jinhua-based enterprises are joining cross-border e-commerce platforms to accelerate their global brand expansion, reported China Central Television on Nov 3.
The 136th Canton Fair featured the Cross-Border E-Commerce Display Area, bringing together seven leading cross-border e-commerce platforms and 34 supporting service providers. It aims to further integrate traditional trade with emerging business forms of foreign trade.
"In 2021, we began our cross-border brand expansion. By 2022, our sales had reached 40 million yuan ($5.63 million). As of August this year, we had achieved 75 million yuan in sales, and we expect to surpass 100 million yuan by the end of December," said Ni Xuemin, an exhibitor from Wuyi.
Wuyi county in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, is a major production base for tourism and leisure products in China, accounting for over 40 percent of the nation's total output and exports of outdoor products.
"The development model of Wuyi's foreign trade companies currently includes the headquarters in Wuyi, brand operations in Shanghai, and research and development and sales overseas. Through cross-border e-commerce and livestreaming sales, these companies have managed to achieve rapid growth in sales," said Zhao Mei, an official in charge of cross-border e-commerce for foreign trade companies in Wuyi.
