Lanxi has been cultivating sugarcane for over 300 years, primarily in Huitan village. The local sandy soil provides an excellent environment for sugarcane growth. Due to the environment and continuously improved cultivation techniques, Huitan sugarcane features a unique taste and quality — crisp, sweet, tender, and juicy.
On June 4, 2021, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs approved the registration of geographical indications for "Huitan Sugarcane".
In recent years, the area has been restructuring its agricultural industry, developing the deep processing of products, and promoting an integrated model covering sugarcane planting, production, processing, and sales.
