The 2024 Yangtze River Delta — Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Industry Cooperation Promotion Conference was held in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on Oct 13.
Representatives from Pan'an county in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, came to Guangzhou to pioneer new paths for TCM preservation and development with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Pan'an, rich in Chinese medicinal herbs, began shifting towards the specialized development of medicinal diets with the establishment of the Zhejiang Qiushi Medicinal Food Science Research Institute in 2014.
Over the past decade, focusing on standardization, talent cultivation, and market expansion, Pan'an has set standards for medicinal diets, held competitions, and organized training sessions to bolster its brand.
Currently, it offers 16 authentic medicinal diets and over 200 products tailored for diverse groups, tapping into both clinical and public markets.
Guangzhou, a TCM industry hub in the Greater Bay Area and a cradle of TCM culture, leads the nation in TCM expertise, herbal medicine production, herb trade, and consumer markets. It seamlessly integrates TCM culture into modern life, forming a distinctive TCM health lifestyle.
At the conference, representatives from Pan'an introduced the county's main platforms for undertaking projects in the TCM health industry to nationally renowned TCM experts as well as TCM health enterprises and institutions in the Greater Bay Area.
The conference also featured medicinal food tasting, bringing Pan'an medicinal delicacies to the Greater Bay Area, where there is a strong overall focus on health preservation among the populace.
