In Jinhua, Zhejiang province, a batch of semi-finished products of nail polish valued at 85,012.8 yuan ($12,021) was exported from Pujiang county for the first time, according to local media on Oct 9.
Jinhua Meidianyuan Cosmetics Co is a small enterprise that primarily produces nail polish, lipstick, mascara, and foundation as part of its business model dealing in cosmetic retail, wholesale, and manufacturing.
The company mainly exports bottled nail polish, but an Algerian client asked for a semi-finished form so they could bottle it themselves. This was the company's first time to export semi-finished nail polish, which was put into steel drums.
For the smooth customs clearance of these products, Jinhua Customs confirmed the gross and net weight per drum and advised whether a hazardous goods packaging assessment was needed. They also guided the company in preparing necessary documentation and provided compliance services for product labeling based on Algerian cosmetics regulations and technical standards.
From January to September this year, the total value of the company's cosmetics exports exceeded 16.19 million yuan, a 56.4 percent increase year-on-year, according to Dang Yongjun, the chairman of Jinhua Meidianyuan Cosmetics Co.
