Lanxi, a county-level city in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, is an ancient commercial hub brimming with history and culture. From Sept 3 to 4, the city welcomed an expat delegation which embarked on an exploration of the city's distinctive charm and cultural symbols.
They explored Xiali village, the birthplace of Li Yu, a Chinese dramatist and drama theorist in the late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) known as the "William Shakespeare of the East". The international visitors also enjoyed Lanxi's treasured Wuju Opera and experienced the city's unique food culture through Youbu Morning Tea.
