In the early hours of Aug 26, a China-Europe freight train carrying 152 TEUs of timber and wood products from Russia to Yiwu in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, entered China through the Suifenhe Port in Heilongjiang province.

With the addition of Suifenhe Port, the China-Europe freight train now operates out of eight ports and runs in four directions.

Located at the heart of the Northeast Asia economic circle, Suifenhe Port serves as a vital gateway into the eastern corridor of the China-Europe freight train. Its opening is expected to give the freight train access to the Russian Far East market and complement the existing routes through Manzhouli and Ereenhot ports, providing customers with optimal route options to reduce logistics costs.

The first freight train entering through Suifenhe Port is scheduled to arrive at Yiwu West Railway Station on Aug 31, according to an authority from the Yiwu International Land Port Group. The timber, wood products, and other resources transported on the train will fill local market deficiencies.

Moving forward, the company aims to further promote the China-Europe freight train towards higher quality, better efficiency, and increased safety, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development under the Belt and Road Initiative and enhancing economic and trade exchanges between China and Europe.
