In the first half of this year, Jinhua's express delivery sector achieved an impressive milestone, handling over 8.03 billion parcels, a 19.8-percent increase from the previous year.
Revenue from these services reached 19.69 billion yuan ($2.7 billion), up 7.8 percent, maintaining Jinhua's position as the national leader in express delivery volume.
The city's express market saw rapid growth, with an average monthly volume exceeding 1.3 billion parcels. June was particularly notable due to mid-year e-commerce promotions, with nearly 56 million parcels processed on June 18 alone, marking an 18-percent increase from the previous year.
Jinhua's express industry has expanded its services to include a variety of products, from Yiwu's small commodities to Yongkang's hardware, Lanxi's waxberries, and Pujiang's grapes.
This year, efforts have been made to enhance rural logistics, establishing seven county-level distribution centers and three town-level centers, along with 36 routes integrating passenger, cargo, and postal services, effectively bridging the gap for agricultural products entering urban markets.
Leveraging its status as a national logistics hub, Jinhua's express industry integrates various transportation modes, creating a secure and efficient international logistics supply chain.
Investments in technology, such as big data, intelligent sorting equipment, and unmanned vehicles, have further enhanced logistics efficiency. Additionally, supportive policies have been implemented, benefiting local companies with subsidies and tax reductions.
