The opening ceremony of the 2024 Jinhua-Africa Vocational Education Cooperation Exchange Month began in Yiwu on July 13.

Part of the 2024 China-Africa Economic and Cultural Forum series, the event is organized by Jinhua Polytechnic, Yiwu Industrial & Commercial College, and Zhejiang Guangsha Vocational and Technical University of Construction. Over 120 participants attended the opening ceremony, including representatives from the World Yiwu Business Association, African Chamber of Commerce, and youth from Rwanda, Morocco, and the Republic of Congo.

Yiwu Industrial & Commercial College established the Morocco Yiwu Business School in 2023, training over 12,000 international students from 108 countries, with more than 24 percent staying in Yiwu for employment and entrepreneurship after graduation.

Since 2018, Jinhua Polytechnic has hosted the China-Africa Economic and Cultural Exchange Forum, evolving from providing international volunteers to organizing the China-Africa Vocational Education Forum.

Yiwu is a hub for global youth employment and entrepreneurship, attracting over 2 million people. During the opening ceremony, alumni and students from Rwanda, the Republic of Congo, Benin, and Morocco shared their innovation and entrepreneurship experiences, engaging in interactive exchanges with other African youth.

The 2024 Jinhua-Africa Vocational Education Cooperation Exchange Month features 10 diverse and content-rich activities focused on innovation, skill enhancement, and cultural integration.
