The first National Fritillary Industry Development Conference was held in Pan'an county, Jinhua, Zhejiang province on June 21.
The landmark event gathered experts, pharmaceutical companies, traders, and herbal farmers from across the country to explore mechanisms for achieving high quality and premium pricing for authentic medicinal materials and to promote the high-quality development of traditional Chinese medicine industries.
During the conference, the China Quality Certification Center awarded the county's Panlong Agricultural Development Co the nation's first authentic medicinal material certificate, while the Zhejiang Provincial Pharmaceutical Society released an assessment report stating that the Pantan Fritillary Base meets Good Agricultural Practices requirements.
Additionally, Pan'an signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Association and signed GAP base co-construction agreements with eight companies, including Shanghai Medicinal Materials Co.
The "Pan'an Initiative for High-Quality Development of the TCM Industry" was also unveiled.
Pan'an, which is the largest production and distribution hub for traditional authentic medicinal materials in the province, produces over 60 percent of the national output of Fritillaria Thunbergii.
With a comprehensive plan in place, Pan'an aims to expand its GAP base for authentic medicinal materials to over 60,000 mu (4,000 hectares) by 2027, establishing itself as a "National Demonstration Area for Premium Authentic Medicinal Material Production.”
