Jinhua in Zhejiang province held a cultural and tourism exhibition in Marrakech, Morocco on June 21.

The event, also known as the Zhejiang-Morocco Cultural and Tourism Exchange Conference, is a significant part of the 2024 China-Africa Cultural Exchange Month. It aims to further promote cultural exchange and cooperation between China and Africa while showcasing Jinhua's rich cultural and tourism resources, according to a local official.

Mohamed Idrissi, vice-mayor of Marrakech, highlighted the achievements in cultural tourism, medical assistance, and university education exchanges between Zhejiang and Marrakech in recent years.

Idrissi expressed optimism about future cooperation prospects, suggesting more exchange activities for artists from both sides to deepen the friendship between their peoples through the bond of art.

The Jinhua Cultural and Tourism - Africa (Morocco) Promotion Center was inaugurated during the event. This center is the second African promotion center established by Jinhua, following the launch of the Jinhua Cultural and Tourism - Africa (South Africa) Promotion Center last year.

This marks a significant step in Jinhua's efforts to enhance its role as a bridgehead for China-Africa cultural exchange and cooperation, particularly with North Africa.

The event showcased Jinhua's rich heritage, including Shangshan culture, Wuju Opera, and various other cultural legacies, highlighting the remarkable achievements amassed over Jinhua's millennia-long history.

Attendees also enjoyed interactive experiences such as demonstrations of Jinhua Juyan tea and Dongyang bamboo weaving techniques, complemented by a virtual exhibition that vividly presented the captivating charm of Jinhua to the Moroccan public.
