Jinhua opened a calligraphy and seal carving exhibition at the Zhejiang Exhibition Hall in Hangzhou on June 17.
The exhibition, which will run until June 23, features over 130 outstanding pieces by calligraphers and seal carvers from Jinhua.
The event has drawn members of calligraphy and seal carving associations, as well as enthusiasts, from Jinhua to Hangzhou. "At this exhibition, I experienced the mature styles of senior artists and witnessed the innovative forms introduced by younger calligraphers," said Shentu Panzheng, a 29-year-old member of the Dongyang Calligraphy Association.
Zhao Yanjun, chairman of the Zhejiang Calligraphers Association, remarked at the opening ceremony that the exhibited works showcase the unique charm of Jinhua's calligraphy and promote the outstanding traditional culture of the Chinese nation.
Yuan Xiuguang, vice-chairman of the Jinhua Calligraphers Association, expressed hope that through these works, more people will gain a greater appreciation for the enduring allure of calligraphy and seal carving, understand the profoundness of traditional culture, and fall in love with Jinhua.
Jinhua, a city with a long and rich history, has nurtured a profound cultural heritage and artistic atmosphere. In modern times, renowned Jinhua calligraphers such as Huang Binhong, Jin Weijian, Ye Yiwei, and Bi Minwang stand out as stars.
