"With digital transformation progressing steadily, this year's output value is expected to grow by more than 20 percent," noted Yang Hao, general manager of Jinhua Shengda Auto Parts Co in Wucheng district, Jinhua, Zhejiang province.

Yang attributed this robust growth largely to policy support from the Wucheng government. In 2021, the company implemented a comprehensive digital transformation, introducing advanced equipment and production technologies from both domestic and international sources. "Previously, we needed eight workers for a single production line. Following the digital transformation, we now only need one worker for two production lines to achieve the same output," Yang explained. This transformation has shortened the company's product delivery cycle by 17.2 percent, increased the product qualification rate by 1.75 percent, and improved the capital turnover rate by 11.7 percent.

Shengda is a prime example of Wucheng's efforts to promote the digital and intelligent transformation of its small and medium-sized enterprises through a phased cultivation path.

On one hand, the district has advanced lightweight digital transformation characterized by easy entry, low cost, short cycle, and replicability. As of the end of 2023, the district achieved full digital transformation coverage of the automotive parts industry.

On the other hand, Wucheng has accelerated the construction of digital workshops, smart factories, and future factories. Over the years, the district has invested a special fund of 200 million yuan, leveraging an additional 720 million yuan from 18 enterprises for digital transformation.

In 2021, Wucheng established seven municipal-level digital workshops and smart factories. Three more municipal-level smart factories and digital workshops were completed the following year. By 2023, nine additional municipal-level smart factories and digital workshops were built, and 34 new high-tech enterprises were added.
