In October 2002, Jinhua and Dueren signed an agreement to establish friendly relations.
Since the establishment of this relationship, Jinhua and Dueren have carried out exchanges and cooperation in many areas.
In September 2011, the Jinhua pavilion, a symbol of friendship between the two cities, was presented to Dueren by Jinhua.
In August 2012, Dueren donated a friendship globe to Jinhua to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of friendly relations.
In April 2020, Jinhua donated 15,000 medical face masks, 1,000 pieces of protective clothing and 5,000 pairs of latex gloves to Dueren to help with its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
