Seven ancient villages in Jinhua, Zhejiang province have been included in a provincial program of preservation and utilization. Below are details on a few of them.
Xiayi Village
Situated in Tangxi town, Wucheng district, Xiayi village boasts a history of over 710 years and is home to well-preserved ancient buildings.
One of the highlights is the water conservancy facility built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), remaining fully intact to this day.
Additionally, the Qingyangshan Ruins carry a historical legacy spanning from 9,000 to 11,000 years.
Yaduan village
Yaduan village in Yiwu, a county-level city in Jinhua, has invested over 20 million yuan ($2.78 million) since 2008 in the restoration of ancient buildings. It is currently home to one national-level cultural relic protection unit and one provincial rural museum.
Zhanglin village
Zhanglin village in Lanxi, a county-level city in Jinhua, boasts over 20 ancient buildings and is best known for its lantern parade during the Lantern Festival.
