Jinhua in Zhejiang province sealed agreements to initiate 37 significant manufacturing projects with a combined investment of 60.35 billion yuan ($8.38 billion) on Feb 19.
The projects, spanning across fields including new energy, new materials, biomedicine, and advanced equipment manufacturing, are set to play a pivotal role in advancing the city's 10 key industrial chains, as highlighted by local authorities.
Since last year, the city has been channeling more resources into fostering the development of 10 key industrial chains, including new energy vehicles and key components, intelligent photovoltaics and new energy storage.
These industrial chains also encompass electric tools, textile and apparel, biopharmaceuticals and implantable medical devices, magnetic materials, integrated circuits and information technology innovation, electronic chemicals, industrial machinery, and robotics.
Jinhua attracted 73 major manufacturing projects with an investment of more than 1 billion yuan each in 2023.
During the signing ceremony, authorities also introduced a comprehensive set of policies aimed at facilitating these sectors, with a focus on providing enhanced support to enterprises engaged in intelligent manufacturing.
This initiative aims to empower these businesses to strive for excellence, pursue technological innovation, and aspire to become industry leaders.
