The textile industry in Lanxi, Jinhua, Zhejiang province is currently undergoing a remarkable shift from traditional labor-intensive methods to intelligent and automated production, marking a significant digital transformation.
As this evolution progresses, Lanxi's textile industry has seen comprehensive optimization and upgrades in production equipment, technological processes, and enterprise management, positioning itself at the forefront of smart manufacturing within the national textile industry.
Lanxi's textile sector has developed a relatively complete industrial chain, encompassing spinning, weaving, printing and dyeing, colored fabrics, and denim.
By the end of 2023, the city was home to nearly 600 textile enterprises, including 163 large-scale textile enterprises, with a total industrial output value reaching 27.55 billion yuan ($3.85 billion).
It is anticipated that by 2027, the industrial output value and per-mu tax revenue of the textile industry will double, and digital transformation will be fully implemented across large-scale textile enterprises.
Zhejiang Xinlan Textile Co stands out as one of the pioneers in this transformation, having invested 380 million yuan to construct a 5G future factory.
This initiative is expected to increase the efficiency of the looms by 5 percent, shorten the production cycle by 28 percent, and reduce unit comparable energy consumption by 10 percent, as highlighted by Huang Youhong, the company's president.
