Nestled within Shicheng Mountain in Yongkang, a county-level city in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, the Huangdi ancient path offers a remarkable opportunity to immerse oneself in nature and delve into the history of the Yellow Emperor, also known as Huangdi.
Huangdi, believed to have been born around 2704 BC and to have ascended to the throne as emperor in 2697 BC, is revered as the progenitor of the Chinese nation alongside Emperor Yan. Consequently, later generations of Chinese have proudly identified themselves as "Yanhuang Zisun" — the descendants of the Yellow Emperor and Emperor Yan.
According to the Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shan Hai Jing), a significant ancient Chinese geographical text, the Yellow Emperor once traversed this mountainous terrain accompanied by civil and military officials.
During his sojourn, he established the Southern Capital, oversaw the casting of tripods and swords, supervised the excavation of eighteen wells, and facilitated the construction of residences for a thousand families, thereby disseminating knowledge and culture among the populace.
Today, this historic path serves as a testament to the enduring legacy of the Yellow Emperor and a cherished retreat for those seeking a harmonious blend of history and natural beauty.
