Local media has reported that the Ningbo-Jinhua Railway, passing through Dongyangbei Railway Station, officially commenced operations on Dec 31, 2023.
This railway spans approximately 188.3 kilometers, originating from Yulong Station in Ningbo and terminating at Yiwu Station in Jinhua, with the Dongyang section, approximately 35 kilometers long, situated in Shanglu town.
This electrified double-track railway, designed for a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour, accommodates both passenger and freight traffic and is a national Class I line.
Initially, the train only ran once daily, but that number has since increased to four times per day.
Traveling from Dongyang to Ningbo by train takes approximately two hours, while reaching Jinhua only requires 48 minutes.
The Ningbo-Jinhua Railway is particularly significant due to its freight transportation capabilities. Authorities have plans to build an international logistics park near the railway station this year in an effort to enhance the logistics services for various enterprises in Dongyang, reduce logistics costs and attract more industries to the city.
