On Dec 29, 2023, a China-Laos Railway international freight train, loaded with automotive parts, hardware products, and other goods, departed from Jinhua in Zhejiang province and headed to Vientiane, capital of Laos, 3,327 kilometers away.
With this shipment, the 2023 total volume of China-Laos Railway (Jinhua-Vientiane) international trains exceeded 2,000 containers.
December marked the two-year anniversary of the opening and operation of the China-Laos Railway. Over the past two years, the Jinhua-Vientiane international freight trains have transitioned from a monthly service to a fixed weekly schedule.
To date, the line's cumulative shipment volume has reached 3,442 containers, making it the third-largest in the country.
