The first Huang Binhong Art Week was launched in Jinhua, Zhejiang province on Dec 9, according to local media reports.
Five boutique calligraphy and painting exhibitions were held during the event, in which nearly 50 works created by Huang were displayed.
More than 100 well-known artists from across the country attended the event and took part in a series of academic symposiums revolving around the impact on Huang of Jinhua’s culture and natural environment.
The Huang Binhong Academic Research Center was also unveiled.
Huang Binhong (1865-1955), who was born in Jinhua, was a prominent Chinese modern and contemporary painter, calligrapher, seal carver, poet, and art educator.
