The 2023 China (Zhejiang) Sino-African Economic and Trade Forum, or the Sino-African Cultural Cooperation Exchange Month, will be launched in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, on Nov 8, according to a news conference on Oct 31.
The event has been held four years in a row, and is playing an increasingly important role in strengthening cooperation between the province and African countries.
Ruan Ganghui, vice-mayor of Jinhua, noted that a total of 25 events has been or will be held throughout the year, combining online and offline formats and coordinating activities both domestically and internationally.
Ruan added that among them are three major activities: the Sino-African Economic and Trade Forum, Sino-African Think Tank Forum, and Sino-African Private Economy Cooperation Forum.
Compared to the previous events, this year's event extends the cultural exchange week to months, which run from September to November.
Zhejiang's cooperation with African countries has grown from economic and trade and cultural exchanges to such fields as digital economy and health care over the past few years.
The province's foreign trade to African countries amounted to 288.84 billion yuan ($39.48 billion) in the first three quarters of this year, a year-on-year increase of 16.1 percent.
