The Dongyang Woodcarving Town in Dongyang, a county-level city in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, has been listed as the most beautiful provincial public cultural venue, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism announced on Aug 25.
Twenty-eight public cultural venues in the province received the honor.
The 2.9-square-meter woodcarving town boasts two public open spaces and receives more than 300,000 tourists per year.
One of the spaces is used to display Dongyang's woodcarving culture and showcase works by the city's top woodcarvers.
The other space is used to promote and preserve the city’s woodcarving culture and function as a study tour base.
The town is a national 3A tourist attraction and has been included on the list of provincial characteristic towns.
