The opening ceremony of the Lu Bing Children Literature Museum was held in Suoyuan village, Jindong district, Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, on May 29.

Children literature writers, poets, university professors, children's drama playwrights, and Lu Bing's daughter and relatives attended the ceremony.

A series of activities such as establishing a student grant, launching a postcard, announcing a script collection competition, and releasing study tour routes, was held at the ceremony. Children's dramas, paintings and calligraphy works were also featured at the ceremony.

Lu Xiaolei, the daughter of Lu Bing, donated more than 100 works by her father and biographical literature on her father to the museum at the ceremony.

Lu said that donating these works is significant to Jinhua's culture community, and that the museum realized her father's dream of having his works accessible to kids in his hometown.

Wang Lichun, children's literature writer from Northeast China's Liaoning province, said that she was amazed at the village's natural landscapes and tranquil environment, which provide fertile ground for the creation of children's literature.

The event is meant to inspire people to create more children's literature and advance the prosperity of the city's cultural industry, said a local official.

Lu Bing, who was born in Suoyuan village in 1924 and passed away in 2006, is best known for his work Little Tadpoles.
