Nearly 30 African students attending a seminar entitled the "Chinese Path to Modernization and African Development" visited Yantou village in Wucheng district, Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province on May 22.
During the visit, the students experienced the local tie-dye culture by trying on traditional tie-dye clothing and making tie-dyed T-shirts.
One of the visitors, Oscar, exclaimed that Chinese medicinal ingredients can also be used as dyes, and are capable of creating beautiful works of art.
The group also visited the village's Lingyan Academy and guqin workshop to experience its history and enjoy the idyllic scenery.
I have never been to China before. It's very different from African villages, with many flowers and beautiful scenery, said Collins from Malawi.
The students will visit other places in Jinhua as they participate in more seminars related to the Chinese path to modernization and African development, according to authorities.
