Songxi village in Pujiang county, Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, is a traditional ancient village with a history of more than 1,000 years.

The village, which is currently home to more than 1,500 residences from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911), boasts many intangible cultural heritage items.

Liu Meilin, who runs a homestay in the village, said that the village is a great place for students and teachers involved in painting and calligraphy art.

The village has also tapped into its natural resources – namely ores - to develop cultural and creative products such as inkstones.

Xu Junlei, Party secretary of the village, said that it is also taking advantage of its cultural resources to bolster tourism in addition to renovating ancient buildings, improving rural landscapes, and installing supporting facilities.

The village has signed a cooperation agreement with Hangzhou Normal University to provide study tour services, helping children learn more about its ICH techniques such as weaving cotton cloth and paper cutting.

In addition, the village is making efforts to transform into a national 4A scenic attraction by renovating several cultural landscapes.

The village's collective income in 2022 totaled 1 million yuan ($139,988.85), and it has received national and provincial honors for its ecology, ancient buildings, history and natural landscapes.
