The first brick carving museum in Siping village in Tangxi town, Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province opened to the public on March 31.

The 400-square-meter museum has four exhibition halls that showcase brick carving techniques and brick carvings.

Zhou Guoliang, the librarian of the Jinhua Cultural and Historical Museum, said that the village's brick carving crafts feature ancient bronzes and stone tablets, as well as the local folk culture.

Siping village, which has a history of more than 700 years, has seven well-preserved ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911), and nearly 80,000 square meters of historical sites that include ancient residences, wells and graves. Thirty-two of these sites are major historical and cultural sites under national-level protection.
