A business delegation from Pujiang county, Jinhua, conducted a five-day economic and trade exchange activity in Russia from Feb 28 to March 4, aiming at further expanding into overseas markets.
On the morning of March 1 local time, the China (Pujiang)-Russia Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Conference was held in Moscow.
The conference was meant to push forward the Belt and Road Initiative and promote trade and investment cooperation between Russia and Pujiang.
At the event, Zheng Liaoyuan, deputy director of Pujiang county, talked about the county's industrial and regional advantages and economic development in recent years.
Zheng hopes that through economic and trade exchanges, both Chinese and Russian companies will be presented with new opportunities, benefits, and developments.
Two enterprises, Zhejiang Dezhiyuan Import and Export Co and Zhejiang Hengyou Import and Export Co, signed agreements for projects worth 500 million yuan ($71.79 million) at the event.
During the delegation's three-day stay in Russia, heads of the 17 companies from Pujiang visited local enterprises and learned about local market demands.
So far, Pujiang-based companies have reached cooperation intention agreements with many local companies, with intended orders valued at over 80 million yuan.
Russia has always been an important trade partner of Pujiang in Europe. In 2022, foreign trade between Pujiang and Russia increased by 21.65 percent year-on-year to 858 million yuan.
