A total of 22 enterprises based in Jinhua, Zhejiang province exhibited their products and looked for business opportunities at this year's China (Shenzhen) Cross-Border E-commerce Fair on Feb 22-24.
The exhibition showcased various products, including daily household items, fitness equipment, baby products, cosmetics, and more, attracting a significant number of buyers. Over the three-day event, Jinhua-based companies received more than 20 million yuan ($2.88 million) in intended procurement orders.
Zhejiang Yijie Home Furnishing Co received over 2 million yuan in intended procurement orders. According to Yu Kai, the company's head, they received over 100 professional cross-border e-commerce sellers on the first day of the exhibition, as well as procurement representatives from foreign supermarkets such as Walmart and Tesco.
Cross-border e-commerce has become a significant business for many small- and medium-sized enterprises, particularly traditional foreign trade companies. Shu Shiping, director of Jinhua Alice Cosmetics Co, said the city's timely introduction of policies to support businesses in expanding their markets gave her company a boost.
Since the beginning of this year, local government departments have been making a list of 282 exhibitions and encouraging companies to participate, helping them expand in the European and American markets, as well as in emerging markets involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
