A business delegation of 23 business executives and government officials, led by the government of Yongkang, a county-level city of Jinhua, left on Dec 18 to attend the 13th China-UAE Trade Expo in Dubai, according to local media outlets.
The delegation will promote local products on behalf of over 30 enterprises in Yongkang and attend a hardware industry promotion conference during the trade expo.
Shi Huanzhang, head of the market development team of Zhejiang Fly-Cup Co, expressed his excitement at promoting the company's smart cups in Middle Eastern countries. Shi said that about 5 percent of the company's sales come from the trade market in the Middle East.
Data from the local commerce bureau of Yongkang showed that 61.8 percent of the city's foreign trade companies have been affected by the global pandemic situation. Nearly 60 percent of local companies made less new orders in October compared with the same period in previous years.
In order to stabilize growth in foreign trade, the local commerce bureau has actively encouraged foreign trade companies and cross-border e-commerce companies to expand into overseas markets, made preparations to participate in trade expos online, and opened green channels for local enterprises to attend international trade fairs on site.
So far, the bureau has arranged for 86 enterprises (42 of which were represented) to participate in 11 foreign exhibitions, including the International Hardware Fair Cologne in Germany, the MITEX Hardware Fair in Moscow, and the Tokyo Gift Fair in Japan.
