The closing ceremony of the 17th Games of Zhejiang Province was held at the Jinhua City Sports Center on Nov 28, local media reported.
The ceremony saw awards presented to groups that made special contributions the Games, athletes showing good sportsmanship, and people and groups that have made outstanding contributions to the development of competitive sports over the past four years.
According to organizers, the event is the first comprehensive sports event held in Zhejiang after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The event saw 1,088 gold medal winners and 3,027 total medal winners after fierce competition.
This year's event added new sports competitions including short-track speed skating, ice hockey, figure skating, breaking, cycling BMX and mountain biking, as well as 10 non-Olympic events and electric surfboard performances, which have injected new vitality into the development of competitive sports.
All contestants are teenagers under the age of 18 who have shown strong competitiveness and sportsmanship. A total of 10 athletes broke provincial records in 14 sports. Improved results were witnessed in weightlifting, shooting, and track and field competitions.
The 18th Games of Zhejiang Province will be hosted in Quzhou in 2026. The city staged an eight-minute show at the closing ceremony to display its historical culture and unique charm.
